If you love people, Guest Services is the place to be. As a Guest Services team member, you have the opportunity to greet guests, help guests find their seats, or welcome first time guests. If praying is one of your spiritual gifts, you could join Journey’s Prayer Team.
We have several ways to get connected into our guest services. Guest Services is a vital ministry on Sunday mornings as you are the first impressions that our guest will have as they pull into the parking lot and walk through the doors of Journey. Most people decide if they are coming back or not before the worship service ever begins. You will have the chance help our guest feel welcomed and also build the excitement for the worship experience.
Areas of Service
Parking Lot Team—
It begins in the parking lot. The parking team is an excited, friendly and smiling group of people who are the first face of Journey Church. This team, literally, makes the first impression on every guest. Volunteering on this team is about creating a friendly environment where people feel genuinely welcomed.
Welcoming Guest as they arrive on our campus, you will assist first time guest with helpful information and create an environment for them to feel safe and welcome. If you are interested in this ministry, please contact Vohn at vohn@journeytifton.com.
Age Requirement: 11 and older
Greeting Team—
This team actively demonstrates God’s love with every smile and hello. Conversations are short, but the potential to make a lasting impression is immeasurable. Do you have a cheerful smile and enjoy welcoming people? Greeters are energetic, talkative, and friendly. People who are relaxed are more likely to respond to the sermon.
Our desire is for people to get pumped up and excited and feel welcome prior to the worship service beginning. This is where the excitement begins! This team is responsible for arriving earlier than the crowd. This team stands in various positions in the building and welcomes everyone who passes by and assist guest with any help needed. Bean Team—
Is coffee your thing? If so, then consider joining the Bean Team! Every Sunday morning we have always greeted people coming to church with a warm cup of coffee, doughnuts, fruit and juice! The Bean Team is responsible for picking up fresh doughnuts, setting up the coffee bar, making hot coffee and greeting people as they arrive.
Every week we have fresh coffee brewing and fresh donuts ready to be served. Perhaps this is a place you would love to serve! We ask for volunteers to rotate each weekend. If you are interested, please contact Vohn at Vohn@journeytifton.com

Ushers—
Creating a worship experience that is distraction-free and focused on the gospel is an essential element of every Sunday morning. Ushers are responsible for welcoming guests to the worship experience (inside of the Worship Center), helping them find a seat, and minimizing distractions so that they are relaxed and ready to focus all their attention to the sermon.
We are in exciting times in the life of Journey Church. We also have special services not limited to, but including, baptisms, the Lord’s Supper, baby dedications, etc. Our ushers help in a variety of ways in assisting with these different events.
